Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Glitzycam (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information when you visit glitzycam.com, use the Glitzycam photobooth apps, create an account, buy glitzycoins, publish or unlock templates, or share snapshots. It applies to the glitzycam.com website, the Glitzycam desktop and mobile apps, and the account features behind them.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we store your name, email address, and — if you sign up with email and password — your password as a one-way hash. We never store passwords in readable form.
Information from social sign-in
If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider, along with a provider-specific account ID used to link the sign-in to your Glitzycam account. We request only the basic profile and email permissions — we never post to your social accounts or access your friends, photos, or other social data. You can also revoke Glitzycam's access at any time in your Google, Apple, or Facebook account settings.
Photos and uploads
Template creators may upload photos used to build a template, including AI-assisted generation. Uploaded assets are stored so we can produce and preview your template, and published template files are visible to people who unlock them.
Snapshots Around the World
If you share a photo to the Snapshots Around The World gallery, we store the photo, a thumbnail, your caption, and — if you choose to provide one — a display name. We also store an approximate location: the position embedded in the photo or provided by your device is rounded to about 1 km before it is saved, and resolved to a city and country so the photo can appear on the map. The photo’s original embedded metadata (exact GPS position, camera details, timestamps) is removed. Photos shared by people without a Glitzycam account are reviewed by us before they appear on the map; a photo we decline is deleted. Once published, snapshots are public. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address used only to detect spam and abuse. Your raw IP address is not stored with the snapshot. You can ask us to remove a snapshot at any time (see “Your rights and choices” below).
Purchases and glitzycoins
Glitzycoin purchases and marketplace transactions are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full payment card details. We keep records of your purchases, glitzycoin balance history, unlocked templates, and reviews you write.
Support messages
If you contact us through the support form or by email, we keep your message, name, and email address so we can respond.
Usage and device data
We collect aggregated usage events (such as template views, downloads, purchases, and reviews) to understand which templates are popular and to improve the service. The website uses Google Analytics to measure overall traffic. When the Glitzycam app activates a license on your computer, we store a generated license key and a device identifier to manage your license. On mobile, the Face Fun feature uses Google ML Kit, which sends device and app information, per-installation identifiers, and performance and error events to Google for diagnostics and usage analytics; camera frames and face images are processed on the device and are not sent.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To send transactional email, such as email verification messages (via our email provider, Resend).
- To deliver the photobooth features: templates, AI template generation, prints, and sharing.
- To process purchases of glitzycoins and marketplace unlocks, and to pay template creators through Stripe.
- To operate the Snapshots Around The World gallery, including placing snapshots on the map.
- To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraud.
- To provide customer support.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve Glitzycam.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run Glitzycam, and only for the purposes described above:
- Google Cloud — application hosting and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing, refunds, and creator payouts.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- OpenAI — AI-assisted template generation of uploaded assets.
- Google Analytics — aggregate website traffic measurement.
- Photon (Komoot) and ipwho.is — place search and reverse lookup for Snapshots, and an approximate location estimated from your IP address when the Glitzycam booth app asks for one, or when our Recommended Gear page offers more than one Amazon store and needs your country to pick the nearest.
- Amazon — our Recommended Gear page links to products on Amazon with affiliate links. If you follow one you leave Glitzycam, and Amazon’s own privacy notice applies to what you do there.
- Sign-in providers — Google, Apple, and Facebook, when you choose to use them.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Glitzycam, our users, or others. If Glitzycam is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, a language cookie that remembers the language you chose, and Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking them may prevent you from staying signed in.
The links on our Recommended Gear page to Amazon carry an affiliate tracking tag so Amazon can credit us for purchases, at no extra cost to you. If you follow one, Amazon may set its own cookies. We do not receive personal information about you from Amazon.
5. Data retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes, session tokens only as hashes, and snapshot IP addresses only as one-way hashes. We use HTTPS for all traffic and restrict access to personal data to those who need it to run the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights and choices
You can access and update your account information in the app and on the website. You may also:
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your personal information, including snapshots you have shared.
- Delete your account yourself in the Glitzycam app (Settings → About → Delete account) or on the account deletion page at glitzycam.com/account/delete; this removes your personal data from our production systems.
- Withdraw consent for social sign-in at any time from your Google, Apple, or Facebook account settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics using your browser's do-not-track settings or Google's opt-out tools.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@glitzycam.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (such as the GDPR in the EU/EEA or the CCPA in California).
7. Children's privacy
Glitzycam is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Glitzycam evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announce the change on the site. Your continued use of Glitzycam after an update means you accept the revised policy.
